In the Strength of His Might

Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil, Ephesians 6:10, 11.

Truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, are the ingredients of the full armor of God. Take notice that each of these five ingredients is a gift from God, not one is of ourselves. God gives us truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and His word. Our job is to submit to God and accept these wonderful gifts He has bestowed upon us.

The truth — Jesus is our truth.

Righteousness — Jesus is our righteousness.

Peace — Jesus is our peace

Faith — Jesus is the author of our faith.

The word — Jesus is the word of God, for it is a testimony of Him

So how do we put on the full armor of God? We do it by putting on the Lord Jesus Christ and making no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts, Romans 13:14. Our victory is through faith in His name. Everything we do is done through faith in His name and in the strength of His might.

Walking with Jesus is a simple process of denying oneself and taking up one’s cross, and following Him. Everyone who does this will never fall prey to the schemes of the devil. Jesus won’t allow it.
